Sermon Notes

Last week in our series on Paul’s letter to Titus, we saw that the role of someone who is discipling another person is to help them in their spiritual development; help them grow in their relationship with God and help them to live out the Irreducible Core of the Christian life – loving God, loving others, and making disciples. We also addressed the importance of men, in particular the older men, taking time to disciple the younger men.
Today we’re looking at Titus 2:3-5 where Paul also encourages Titus to challenge the older, more spiritually mature women to disciple the younger women in how to live as a follower of Christ, in how to be reverent or respectful to God in their behavior. He focuses especially on teaching the younger women how they are to relate to their family in a way that honors God.
