Sermon Notes

Last week we focused on five necessary ingredients for not just healthy disciple making relationships but any healthy relationship whether a marriage, a friendship, or a relationship at work. They are transparent trust, abundant grace, sincere affirmation and encouragement, true humility, and mutual accountability.
As we continue with the theme of discipleship today, Jesus sought to do good by meeting people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. We’re going to look at the encounter Jesus had with the Samaritan woman at the well.
Why didn’t Jesus follow the custom of going around Samaria to Galilee rather than going through it? What cultural taboos did He break by having a conversation with her? How did He treat this woman who her own people, no doubt, looked down on?
